Sponsored "Zhang Haochen Plays Rachmaninov" Concert of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra
On 26th May 2023, CMB Wing Lung Bank sponsored the inaugural performance of "Zhang Haochen Plays Rachmaninov" by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil), in celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the Bank's establishment and the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninov's birth.
On that day, the Bank hosted an exclusive pre-concert reception, providing an opportunity for guests and customers to witness the Bank's commitment to promoting cultural and artistic development, while the reception served as a platform for sharing and exchanging experiences in the realm of culture and art.
Over 800 guests of the Bank attended the event, joining over 1,000 audiences in experiencing the splendid performance by the HK Phil. The concert was conducted by the HK Phil Principal Guest Conductor – Maestro Yu Long. Together with the pianist Zhang Haochen and a group of talented musicians, they delivered a remarkable rendition of the challenging and intricate compositions by Rachmaninov, including the renowned "Piano Concerto No. 3" and "Symphonic Dances." The concert received high praise from the audiences, who were captivated by the breathtaking visual and auditory spectacle, as well as the passionate interpretation of music and art.
*The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is the first founded professional Western music orchestra in Hong Kong, established in 1895, under the name Sino-British Orchestra, renamed as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in 1957, and became a professional orchestra in 1974.
