    Education has been regarded as one of the top priorities in our CSR agenda. Since 1973 we have been donating a great amount supporting various education researches. Some examples to quote include the set up of "CMB Wing Lung Bank Medical Research Fund" and "CMB Wing Lung Bank Chinese Cultural Fund" in University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong respectively. In celebration of the Bank's 60th Anniversary, we have donated HK$5 million to Hong Kong Baptist University for the establishment of "The CMB Wing Lung Bank Building for Business Studies" and "CMB Wing Lung Bank International Institute for Business Development" (IIBD) in 1993. Another donation of a total of HK$9 million under the name of "CMB Wing Lung Bank Scholarship" was pledged to 9 local universities* in Hong Kong (HK$1 million each) during our 75th Anniversary in 2008, for commending those outstanding students with academic achievements. This scholarship is an endowment fund where the principal funding of the endowment will be held intact in perpetuity and the income earned will be used to support the scholarships.

    * 9 universities include the Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Science & Technology University, The Hong Kong Shue Yan University, The Hong Kong City University, The Lingnan University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong Baptist University, The Hong Kong Open University and the HKU School of Professional & Continuing Education.
