What is Physical Gold?

Physical gold basically refers to bullion bars and coins produced for collection or investment purposes. Unlike paper gold and other gold-linked products, physical gold is a tangible asset that is widely accepted throughout the world.

Types of Physical Gold

Gold bars
Gold bars are a simple and efficient way to participate in gold markets. Commonly traded gold bars in Hong Kong are 99 gold and 9999 kilo gold bar.
Gold coins
Gold coins often carry distinguishable features. Coins issued by the governments are common in the market, like Canadian Gold Maple Leaf.
Size and purity
The commonly traded sizes of gold bars in Hong Kong are 1 tael, 5 tael, 1 oz and 1 Kg; while those of gold coins are 1oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz. Purity of gold is at least 99%.

Terms and Conditions

Customers buying/ selling the CMB Wing Lung 9999 Gold Bar or 9999 Kilo Gold Bar must be account holders of CMB Wing Lung Bank (“the Bank”).
Except for 9999 Kilo Gold Bar, the Bank provides buy-back service for physical gold.
The Bank reserves the right to inspect the physical gold sold by customer. If the physical condition of the gold was changed, say damaged or deformed, the Bank reserve the right to refuse for the buy-back.
The Bank has the sole and absolute discretion to make the final determination of the buy-back price, which would be determined with reference to the market buy-back price for respective gold products and may be substantially lower than the Bank sell price.
If there is any discrepancy between English and Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.
