CMB Wing Lung Food Pack Donation
Although the pandemic has been relatively stable in 2021, many are still living under certain stress and pressure. The negative impacts bought by the pandemic on grass-roots families and elderly are especially heavy. During Winter Solstice Festival, the Bank had collaborated with Blessed Food*– a short-term food assistance service run by Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council Limited, to distribute CMB Wing Lung Food Pack to people in need. Those CMB Wing Lung Food Packs eventually went to 2,400 grass-roots living in Tuen Mun, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing District. The Bank wishes to do its little part to help people in need for their enjoyment of Winter Solstice dinner with their families just as others.
*Since the Social Welfare Department launched the Short-term Food Assistance Service Scheme in February 2009, the Welfare Council has provided funding to establish "Blessed Food" in Tuen Mun and Yuen Long to provide food assistance services. In 2018, the Council deployed 2 food assistance teams in Tuen Mun and Kowloon City/Yau Tsim Mong. The Council has accumulated over 10 years of experience providing food assistance service until it is regularised in 2021. With 2 more teams in Tsuen Wan/Kwai Tsing/Tuen Mun and Kowloon City/Yau Tsim Mong districts, the Council has established a solid service network to support the underprivileged.
