Established a Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace
In response to the Hong Kong Government’s promotion of breastfeeding and to meet the needs of our working mother, the Bank joined the “Say Yes to Breastfeeding” 2016/2017 Campaign* co-organized by the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK), the Food and Health Bureau and Department of Health. From December 2015, the Bank has set up a Nursery Room at its Central headquarters, to provide a cosy place for our working mother to continue breastfeeding after their maternity leave. The Nursery Room is furnished with basic facilities such as sofa, disinfection products and refrigerator, as well as an emergency alarm. This thoughtful act has shown how the Bank, as one of the “Family-Friendly Employers”, supported our staff to achieve a balance between their career and family.
*The “Say Yes to Breastfeeding” 2016/2017 Campaign is co-organized by the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK), the Food and Health Bureau and Department of Health. It echoes to the theme of the World Breastfeeding Week “Breastfeeding and Work: Let’s Make it Work!”. It aims to promote the establishment of breastfeeding friendly facilities to allow working mothers to continue breastfeeding after returning to work from maternity leave.
