With the objective to raise money for Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC)* New Headquarters Redevelopment Project, the Bank participated the organization’s “Run for Red” Charity Relay Race as a “Silver Sponsor”. On the day of the event, a team of 8 members participated in the Red Cross’ Relay Competition, to run a race of about 2km long. The race started at the Edinburgh Place next to the City Hall in Central. All participating teams had to complete 4 tasks during the race, which resembled Red Cross’ work to take care of the vulnerable and to protect human life in war and disaster. Our team completed the race in 9 minutes and 1 second and won the 2nd runner up in the division, an encouraging result of the dedicated team work.

* HKRC was established in 1950. To accommodate rapid expansion of HKRC services in recent years, the Hong Kong Red Cross New Headquarters Redevelopment Project was launched in 2011. The 11-storey new building is located in West Kowloon and puts under one roof different service units, including blood donation, humanitarian education, youth uniformed groups, first aid and health training, volunteer development and disaster relief.
