CMB Wing Lung Bank Mooncake Donation
To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the 88th anniversary of the Bank, the Bank had again appointed a social enterprise, Gingko House*, to tailor make CMB Wing Lung Mooncakes with low-sugar white lotus and salty egg yolk, for the donation to elderly and grassroots families, with the support of Christian Family Service Centre#.
2,000 pieces and 888 pieces of mooncakes made with “CMB Wing Lung” in Chinese character, were sponsored by the Bank and staff of the Bank respectively. CMB Wing Lung Mooncakes were delivered to elderly and people in need with warmth and hope, through social welfare agency prior to Mid-Autumn Festival.
*Ginkgo House was established in 2003. It is the first organization in Hong Kong to promote employment for the elderly, providing employment opportunities for the elderly who have financial and psychological needs to work.
#Christian Family Service Centre was established in 1954, to help Mandarin speaking refugees. Material aid, financial support and guidance in finding jobs were provided to needy families.
